One of the most rewarding outreach efforts we've participated in recently had nothing to do with food, clothing, or housing resources, it was about helping people feel good about themselves again. During our recent Haircut Day outreach, volunteers provided free haircuts to several unhoused individuals within our community. While a haircut may seem like a routine part of life for many people, for those experiencing homelessness it is often a luxury that is simply out of reach.

At Hustle for Hope Community Connection Coalition, we believe that homelessness is not someone's identity, it's a circumstance. Too often, people experiencing homelessness are reduced to a label, a statistic, or a passing glance. What we see instead are people. People with stories. People with families.
